Nandhi is always positioned facing God Shiva traditionally. This statue was facing Darbhar (Royal court) inside the palace complex which housed temples as well.
Nandhi (Bull) statue facing the temple inside the Thanjavur Royal Palace, Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, India
This is inside the palace complex, Deb. This complex holds the royal court where the King used to be seated on his throne and houses a few temples, library, and a museum. If one sees Nandhi (bull) statue in India, you can understand there’s a temple in that direction. Thank you 😊🙏
I think this is the first statute I’ve seen not within a bustling crowd, is this a remote location?
