There used to be a lot of those being sold here in the Philippines. My grandma (Leo’s) cultivated and sold betel leaves for her business. Unfortunately they are rarely seen these days except for the mountainous regions in the north.
So lovely to hear your experience and memories. I noticed Burmese people still consuming these betel leaves and good to know your grandma cultivated it once too. These betel leaves are widely used in marriage and other functions in south India, still. Thank you so much 🙏😊
