    1. During the Ghost festival, they usually place joss sticks and candles along the footpath and in open places, as they believe the spirits are out in the open spaces during that period. It’s become part of their ancestor worship in a way; they also setup many worship tents too. An interesting practice. Hope this clarifies you somewhat.
