These willows were so colorful. They were called pussy willows apparently because they resemble the paws of cats.

Interestingly such ritual is common in Hinduism. Vesak Day is also known as Buddha Purnima, a full moon day that marks birth, enlightenment and also death (Final Nirvana) of the Gautama Buddha. Also interesting to see a baby Buddha statue. Both Buddhists and non-Buddhists were performing this ritual.
